Cooperation agreement

Standard cooperation agreement between an insurance intermediary and an insurance company: what it regulates, who signs it and how to execute it.

A cooperation agreement makes it possible to formalise the work of an insurance intermediary — an insurance broker or an insurance agent — with an insurance company and to place clients' risks more effectively in a highly competitive environment.

What the agreement covers

  • the procedure for cooperation between the parties when preparing and concluding insurance contracts;
  • the transfer and verification of risk information and the preparation of proposals for the client;
  • client service standards: disclosure of insurance terms, response times, and support when an insured event occurs;
  • confidentiality of client information and protection of personal data;
  • the procedure for resolving disagreements between the parties.

Who signs it

The agreement is concluded between an insurance company and an insurance intermediary. The Association of Insurance Agents and Brokers has prepared a standard text that the parties may supplement to reflect their own practice. The agreement does not replace an agency contract or an insurance broker contract; it supplements them with general rules of cooperation.

How to conclude it

  1. Download the standard text of the agreement below.
  2. Agree the terms with the other party and sign the agreement.
  3. If you wish, inform the association of the concluded agreement — the cooperation will be shown in the parties' profiles in the registry.

The agreement works well alongside the association's memorandums with insurance companies and insurance market participants.
