The committee develops training programmes and tests for accreditation, organises professional development for insurance agents and brokers, and monitors the quality of teaching.

The Training Committee is a standing body of the Association of Insurance Agents and Brokers. It is responsible for the content and quality of the association's educational programmes: from basic training of insurance intermediaries to professional development and the tests on the basis of which accreditation is granted.

Committee tasks

  • Developing and updating training programmes for insurance agents and insurance brokers, taking into account legal requirements and insurance market practice.
  • Preparing accreditation tests for participants and reviewing them regularly together with the Accreditation Committee.
  • Organising professional development for insurance agents and brokers, including on new types of insurance and regulatory changes.
  • Setting requirements for instructors and course authors, and monitoring the quality of teaching.
  • Filling and developing the association's learning platform.
  • Working with educational organisations and training centres that have joined the Memorandum of Cooperation.

Committee goals

  • Raise the professional level of insurance intermediaries and the quality of advice given to clients.
  • Make training accessible to agents and brokers regardless of their place of work and form of activity.
  • Ensure uniform and clear knowledge requirements, which are verified during accreditation.
  • Keep training materials up to date as legislation and market practice change.

Regulations on the Committee

The Committee operates on the basis of the Regulations on the Training Committee approved by the association's Management Board. Key provisions of the Regulations:

  • the committee is a standing body and reports to the Management Board;
  • the committee develops training programmes and accreditation tests and submits them to the Management Board for approval;
  • the committee sets requirements for instructors and assesses the quality of courses, including on the basis of participant feedback;
  • the committee may engage experts and cooperate with educational organisations under the Memorandum;
  • the committee chair is elected or appointed by the Management Board, and its members are drawn from representatives of the association's members;
  • meetings are held at least once a quarter; decisions are taken by a simple majority of votes with a quorum of more than half of the committee members.

Committee structure

  • The Committee Chair organises the committee's work, chairs meetings and represents the committee before the Management Board.
  • The Deputy Chair acts for the chair in their absence and coordinates individual areas of work.
  • Working groups are set up by area: training programmes, accreditation tests, professional development, and assessment of teaching quality.
  • The Committee Secretary prepares materials for meetings and keeps the committee's minutes and records.

Reporting line

The Committee reports to the association's Management Board. Training programmes, tests and other decisions of the committee take effect after approval by the Management Board. The Committee reports regularly to the Management Board on its work and makes proposals for the development of training.

Role of the Committee

The Training Committee sets the professional bar for insurance intermediaries. It determines what knowledge an agent and a broker need to serve clients in good faith, how this knowledge is passed on and how it is verified. The committee's programmes cover insurance legislation, consumer rights, personal data protection, ethics and client service practice.

The Committee works hand in hand with the Accreditation Committee: training prepares the participant, and the test confirms their knowledge. The Committee pays particular attention to teaching quality: instructor qualification requirements, clarity of materials and feedback from participants.

For association members who have chosen a membership plan with extended features, the committee prepares advanced training programmes. Insurance agents and brokers themselves may submit proposals for new course topics: the committee considers them when updating training programmes.

Courses and materials for insurance agents and brokers are available on the association's learning platform in the Training section.
