Motor insurance: fundamentals and practice

A foundation course for those who work with vehicle owners: new insurance agents and brokers, and staff of car dealerships, banks and insurance companies. You will learn how compulsory liability insurance differs from CASCO, how to explain policy terms to a client, help arrange a contract and advise on what to do in the event of a road traffic accident.

Course curriculum

1. Why motor insurance is needed — vehicle owner risks, compulsory liability insurance and CASCO.
2. Legal framework and obligations of the parties — the law on compulsory insurance, participants, the Insurance Payments Guarantee Fund, recourse.
3. Motor insurance products and market structure — how the policy price is calculated, “bonus-malus”, CASCO, deductible and depreciation.
4. How a policy is issued and what to do after an accident — e-policy, simplified issuance, vehicle inspection, payout deadlines.
5. Quality client service — identifying needs, a vehicle owner's guide, handling complaints, sales ethics.
